Praised for her “tremendous”, “skillful”, and “emotional” singing, American soprano Michelle Law has been distinguishing herself as a young artist to watch.
Ms. Law’s operatic repertoire encompasses the roles of Alice in Verdi’s Falstaff, Mimì in Puccini’s La bohème, Donna Anna in Mozart’s Don Giovanni, La Contessa in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro, Fiordiligi in Mozart’s Così fan tutte, and the title role in Lehár’s Die lustige Witwe.
Ms. Law’s 2016-17 season includes joining the San Diego Opera to study cover the role of Alice Ford in Verdi’s Falstaff, a return to Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro as the Contessa with Point Loma Opera Theatre, and many appearances, recitals, and galas throughout the San Diego area.
Ms. Law was a 2015 winner in the San Diego District’s National Association of Teachers of Singing competition. In 2014-15, she was a soloist with the San Diego Opera’s Opera Exposed! program, where she performed numerous operatic outreach and education concerts around the San Diego area. She has also been seen singing as an Advanced Artist in the Opera Academy of California’s summer program in 2013, and as an Emerging Artist in OperaWorks! in 2012. Ms. Law received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music (Honors) from Point Loma Nazarene University.
